Maynard- Winifred Lucille Brooks, 85, was granted her angel wings Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Winnie was born January 8, 1930 in the Columbia-Jarrett Community to the late Oscar and Edna Lincoln Jarrett. Winnie is survived by children Jamie Brooks, Robin (Brenda) Brooks, Reba (Dennis) Carter, Edna (John) Mercer, grandchildren; Yolanda Atkins, Heather Summers, Brooklynne Rapert, Josh Brooks, Aaron Brooks, Christopher Carter, Tyler Brooks, Dylan Carter, Sierra Mercer, 13 great grandchildren and a brother Charles Jarrett. She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Edna Jarrett, husband James L. Brooks, step-mother Katie Jarrett and son Jarrett Brooks. Winnie was a member of the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, Richardson EHC for 60 years. She was also a 4H leader, part of the Maynard Pioneer Park Committee, and the Maynard Herb Society. She was very active in the Maynard community. She was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you leave a lasting memorial to the Mt. Pleasant Church 33 McKnight Rd Maynard, AR 72444 or the Maynard Cemetery. Services will be held in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 12-1 p.m. a funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 1 p.m. with Mike Bradley officiating.
