Jonesboro- Wilma Lee Hufstedler Stone, 93, passed from this life December 8, 2016.
Wilma was born August 30, 1923 in Attica near Pocahontas to the late W. W. and Willie Hufstedler. She attended Egypt High School and came to Jonesboro in 1944 to work at Walgreen Drug Store on Main Street. She married Lero Stone, a childhood friend who had returned from World War II on May 1, 1946. They were blessed with four wonderful sons that she stayed home to raise. Her family will remember her tireless efforts and sacrificial love on their behalf. Her generous heart was evident in all that she said and did and only eternity will reveal the impact of her love.
In the mid 1970's, she and her husband started the Jonesboro Health Food Store on Stone Street. It was the first health food store in Jonesboro, and is still in existence today. During her time there she helped literally hundreds of people to take care of their bodies and their souls.
She was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class at Central Baptist Church where she was a member for over fifty years. Her favorite scriptures were Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me." and Proverbs 3:5, 6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths."
