Pocahontas: Wilma Cornelsen Fender, 95 went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday July 10th , 2011 at Craighead Nursing Center of Jonesboro. Born in Wellington, Kansas, she was the daughter of Jacob and Bessie Cornelsen. A dedicated wife and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Fender. Mother Bill as she was affectionately called by her family is survived by her children, David Fender and Wife Peggy of Pocahontas, Marilyn Holloway and husband Tom of Bentonville and Charlotte Metzgar and husband Gordon of Jonesboro, seven grandchildren David Duke Fender, Brian Fender, Kristi Sorg, Chase Holloway, Holly Siemens, Margo Rogers, and Meredith Metzgar, 13 great grandchildren, Hannah and Ashton Fender, Barkley and Kate Sorg, Olivia Metzgar, and Sophie Rogers, and Anna, John David, Rachel, Benjamin, Kate, Hope, and Gabe Siemens. Preceding her in death were two brothers and two sisters. She has a surviving sister Mary Lois Gallagher of Konawa, Ok. Mrs. Fender was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Pocahontas. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
