Pocahontas- Wilma King Childs, 95, passed away peacefully January 24, 2016. She was born in Reyno, Arkansas on October 23, 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Nola King, sisters Trula Hedge Bradshaw, Una Haake, Tommy Creason Willans and brother Benjamin King. On October 19, 1941 she married N. A. "Babe" Childs in Pocahontas and what a wonderful life they shared together until his death in 1985. She is survived by daughter Sheron (Jim) Rogers of Fayetteville and son Larry Childs of Eureka Springs. Wilma was a truly devoted wife and mother who always surrounded her family with much laughter and love. Her home was always a happy place for her dear nieces and nephews to visit. She was always ready for a ride in the country, dancing with Babe, a good meal, playing bridge, baking pies, sewing a beautiful dress, walking in the snow, feeding her birds, loving her dogs, and hugging her kids. For the past few years, Wilma was a resident at Pocahontas Heathcare and Rehab Center where she had a new loving family. Many of her care givers will still smile when they hear, "I love you a bushel and a peck..."! Our dearest mother was a strong lady to the end and we have missed her for so long! Graveside service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Masonic Cemetery.
