Jonesboro- Ms. Willie B. House, 96, passed away, Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Manila Nursing Home.

She was born to Bertie and W.O. House in Warren. Willie was of the Baptist belief. Willie's family moved from South Arkansas to Northeast Arkansas when she was eight years old. She graduated from Dyess High School in 1945. She then worked at a department store as a billing clerk and later worked in Washington D.C. for the Department of the Army for thirty-one years. During that time she also worked in Japan and St. Louis.

During her years in Memphis, she attended Memphis State College and later graduated from Columbia College, Columba, Missouri. When she was working in St. Louis.

After retiring, she returned to Arkansas and lived in Jonesboro near family. She was a member of the Northeast Arkansas Visual Arts League and the National Association of Retired Federal employees.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Monroe; three sisters, infant Lorraine House, Leconia Smythe and Ona Lee Eley.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at Garrison Cemetery at Warren with her nephew, Paul House officiating.
