Jonesboro- William T. Watson, 96, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at NEA Baptist Hospital.
He was born February 14, 1924 in Strawberry to the late William E. and Ethel Davis Watson. He was a retired math teacher from Granite City, Illinois Public School District. He was a member of the ASU Touchdown Club and over fifty year season ticket holder of ASU football team. A special thanks to his dear friend, (more like a son), Darrel Sexton who always took him to see the Red Wolves play.
He is survived by four sisters, Juanita Stalnaker of Baldwin, Missouri, Opal Mullen and Emma Rice both of St. Peters, Missouri and Sue Mason of Walnut Ridge and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverlee Watson and three sisters, Dula Cooper, Imogene Simmons and Barbara Conyers.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 10:45 am Saturday at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Interment will follow.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Darrel Sexton, Jeremy Conyers, Gene Rice, Mark Cooper, Carl Moore and Randy Jones.
