Jonesboro- William Thomas "Tommy" Cooksey, 75, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017.
He was born September 22, 1941 in Jonesboro to Steve and Golden Cooksey. Tommy was an over the road/long haul trucker. He was a true craftsman in woodworking and enjoyed making a variety of things for family and friends. He will be remembered as a very special and loving uncle who was always there for whomever needed him. He was very close to his work family at Brand Custom Hauling.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Martha Davis (Robert) of Pocahontas, Steve Cooksey (Donna) of Walnut Ridge, David Adams of Independence, MO and Roxann Hibbs (Willard) of Walnut Ridge; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Wright and Mary Cooksey and a brother, George Cooksey.
A celebration of his life will be 3:00 pm Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Josh Brand, Ronnie Brand, Ron Cooper, Billy Cotton, Terry Woodard and John Lytle and as honorary pallbearers, Chip Cooksey, Jordan Cooksey, Steven Paul Davis, Bradley Owens, Jack Brand, Ronnie Johnston, Phillip Johnston and Wayne Coots.
