Jonesboro- William Monroe Spencer, 73, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born October 4, 1942 in Walnut Ridge to the late Jesse Monroe and Mary Ellen Browning Spencer. He loved to work on vehicles and drink coffee with friends. He was survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Collins Spencer; two sons, Phillip Hanley of Jonesboro and Steve Hanley of Paragould; a grandson, Bodey Hanley of Jonesboro; a great-granddaughter, Trisha Hanley of Jonesboro; two sisters, Imogene Cox of Harrisburg and Janet Garman of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elwanda Hannah and Charlsey Hannah; a great-granddaughter, Kandi Hanley. A celebration of his life will be 1:00 pm Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marlin Rayofficiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm Thursday at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Stoney Clayton, Carl Adams, Phillip Hanley, Brandon Carter, Jim Heath, Jason Marsh and Bodey Hanley.
