Jonesboro- William Peter "Pete" Geis, 89, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

He was born July 1, 1934 in Minden, LA to the late Clarence and Hazel Baucum Geis. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1953. He spent many happy days with his Mama Baucum in Haynesville, LA. Pete served his country proudly in the United States Army. He received a degree from Cleveland Institute of Electronics and National Radio Institute Complete Communications Electronics with a FCC license. Pete retired after thirty years with General Electric.  He had many hobbies over the years, fishing, stock car racing, motorcycle racing and golf.  He was of the Methodist belief.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Julia Coleman Geis; a sister, Susan Geis of Jonesboro and a brother, John Perry Geis of Alexander, VA; nieces, Amy Branum, Jennifer Keller and Stephanie Caturra and nephews, Hugh Sanford and John Christopher Geis.

He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Scott Sanford.

The visitation will be from noon until 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Keith Baker officiating.
