Obituary

William "Bill" Joseph Martin Zosso, 86, of Floral City, Florida passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at his home.

He was born June 17, 1933 in Engelberg to the late William Aloys and Malissa Ella Johnson Zosso. Bill was an Army veteran stationed in Berlin, Germany during the Korean War. After his military service, he married and raised a family in Valparaiso, IN. He owned his own carpentry business, had a strong work ethic and was a wonderful mentor to his family. He was a loving devoted husband/father that loved life and was rooted in his Roman Catholic faith. He loved traveling, biking, kayaking, and being outdoors. With his children and grandchildren, he hiked the Grand Canyon at age 70 and skydived at age 80. He lived out his saying, "Try to be a tough ole bird".

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Malissa Zosso; baby son, Charles Lynn Zosso; sisters, Betty Larsen, Dorothy Parten, Lena Zosso, and Teresa Zosso; and brothers, Bernard Zosso and Robert Zosso.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Marie Walker Zosso; three sons, W. Allen (Pam) Zosso of Westville, IN, Michael (Linda) Zosso of Murray, KY, and Clifford Zosso of Chesterton, IN; three daughters, Phyllis (Paul) Flisiak of Chesterton, IN, Virginia "Gin" (Bill) McGrogan of Kouts, IN, and Patricia (Mark) Coleman of Valparaiso, IN; fifteen grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marie Peters, Bea McDaniel, Anna Mae (Darrell) Higginbotham, Bud (Pam) Zosso, Jeanie (Norm) Gossett, and Rudy (Barb) Zosso; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2019 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a Rosary being said at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 10 AM at St. John Catholic Church in Engelberg with Father Michael Wurtz officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery.
