Mr. William Jack King, of Harrisburg, departed this life Monday, August 24, 2015, at his home, at the age of 82. He was born October 24, 1932 in Water Valley, MS, the son of Harry Jack King and Lorraine Harmon King. Jack was a retired truck driver having worked for Gordon's Truck Lines. Following retirement he owned and operated his own truck for many years. He enjoyed fishing, was a former Boy Scouts leader, was a U.S army veteran and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jackie King, and two brothers, Robert King and Charles King. He is survived by the mother of his children, Doris King of Harrisburg, two daughters, Brenda Walker of Harrisburg, and Debbie Gipson (Kenneth) of Lebanon, TN, one brother, Bobby King (Glenda) of Harrisburg, seven grandchildren, Dana Dickens, Ashley Bishop, Jennifer Pino, Paul Gipson, Jeremy King, Josh King, and Tiffany Dixon, and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday, 1:00 p.m. till service time. His grandchildren, Jeremy King, Paul Gipson, Blake Dickens, Cody Dickens, Josh King and Gene Winters will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the Harrisburg Senior Citizen Center.
