Pocahontas - William "Gene" Eugene Brunner, 72, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Five Rivers Medical Center. Born May 28, 1939 in Engelberg, AR. He is preceded in death by father Wilferd Brunner and nephew Aaron Dust. He is survived by wife Coletta Warner Brunner of the home, son Bruce Warner and wife Gina Brunner of St. Louis, MO., two grandchildren; Cassandra Anne Brunner and Bryce Xavier Brunner, two brothers; Gerald Brunner of Pocahontas and Kenneth Brunner of Paragould, sister Mary Susanna Byrd of Jonesboro and mother Katherine Peters Brunner. Mr. Brunner was awarded expert rifleman while serving in the army over in Korea. Retired after 28 years of service with UPS. He was also a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Anthanius Okeiyi officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 o'clock rosary following in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Pallbearers include: Kevin Dust, Bobby Erwin, Rodney Warner, Dewayne Warner, Shawn Brunner and Rob Luter Honorary Pallbearers: Dylan Warner, Nick Bergman, Tom Radcliff and Henry Lindner.
