William "Billy" Caplinger of Harrisburg, departed this life Saturday, August 6,2022 at the age of 78. He was born August 20, 1943 in Greenfield to Clyde and Lore Mae Smith Caplinger. Billy was married to Patsy Caplinger for 56 years. He owned the No.1 club and B&T Salvage as well as B&T Auto Sales. He also worked at Harrisburg Rice Mill. Billy enjoyed hunting, drag racing, fishing, flying and was a pool shark. He was of the Assembly of God faith and he loved spending time with his family .

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Caplinger; his daughter, Melody Renee Caplinger; his brother, Seldon Caplinger and sisters, Joan Alexander, Jeanette Caplinger and Geraldine Brayan.

He is survived by two daughters, Tina and Greg Haner of Harrisburg and Bailie Gartman (DP Salley) of Jonesboro; a brother, Jackie Caplinger of Harrisburg and three sisters, Gail Matthews of Bonifay FL, Joyce Anderson of Horse Shoe Bend and Regina Pierce of Cherry Valley; one grandchild, Melody (Bradley) Ezell of Harrisburg and two great-grandchildren, Kylie Ezell and Kasen Crawford as well a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny McMahan officiating.  Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial park Cemetery.  Friends may vist at the funeral home, Thursday, noon till service time. Pallbearers will include Timmy Austin, Jr., Jimmie Page, Trey Wofford, Byron Mitleff, Terry Nelson, and Dustin Weeks.  Honorary pallbearers are Randy Jones, Hunter Jones,  Mike Whitley, Bobby Page, Wilson Cooper, and Anthony Chandler.
