Obituary

Pocahontas- William P. "Buster" Crain, 95, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, in Jonesboro, Thursday, August 7, 2014. He was born March 21, 1919, in Malden, Missouri, the son of Arthur C and Maudie (Huffstutler) Crain. He was united in marriage to Nova Glynn Guntharp, March 22, 1947. He retired from Pocahontas Water Works and enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He was a WW II veteran and a member of the Pyburn Street Church of Christ for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Nova, three sisters Ora Crain, Ruth Thompson, and Audrey Lamb and three brothers, Cleatus Crain, Vernon Crain and Melvin Crain. He is survived by 2 daughters; Janice (Joe) Hurd of Searcy and Melissa (Richard) Dust of Jonesboro and one son Barry Crain of Beebe. Two sisters; Ruby Reynolds of Flints, MI., and Margaret Griffin of Paragould and one brother; Donald Crain of Ore City, TX. Six grandchildren; Pam Kirk, Matthew Crain, Ashley Manis, Jeremy Throesch, Daniel Hurd, and Sara Rye and 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you leave a lasting memorial to: Paragould Children's Home 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450 All services will be held at the Pyburn Street Church of Christ Sunday, August 10, 2014 visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Barry Crain officiating. Burial will follow in the Janes Cemetery.
