On September 14, 2018 at the age of 91, Bill Holobaugh left his earthly body to be with the Lord. He was surrounded by his loving family members and special companion, Katherine French, as he lost his battle to pneumonia.
Bill, the firstborn child of James Harvey \u0026 Willie Irene Foster Holobaugh entered this world on February 6, 1927 in Black Rock, Arkansas. (followed by the birth of his two sisters, Betty Lou Holobaugh (Born) and Joan Holobaugh (Rogers Hightower)). When his family moved from Black Rock, AR to Pocahontas AR in 1938, he met Betty Brown Childs and on November 27, 1947 Bill married his childhood sweetheart and they lived the remainder of their lives in Pocahontas, AR. They had two children Debra Lou Holobaugh and Dennis Foster Holobaugh, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
After a two-year stint in the United States Army, Bill started his career as a football coach at Pocahontas High School. One year later Bill, best known for his pleasant personality, entered the financial world with the Bank of Pocahontas, only to retire forty-four years later due to the illness of his wife, Betty Brown. Bill enjoyed GOLFING at Rolling Hills Country Club, fishing, hunting and in his later lifeGOLFING and driving to enjoy life at its fullest. Bill and Katherine French attended Sutton Baptist Church. Bill was an honorary member of the 166 breakfast club and the McDonald's world problem solvers!
Bill is survived by his two children Debby Holobaugh and Dennis Holobaugh; four grandchildren Ryan Solomon of Los Angeles,CA, Breana Lea Zaborowski (husband Brad - children Ty Michael, Jai Elizabeth, and Ella Rose of Porter, Texas), Jennifer Ashlee Myers (husband Darren - children Caroline Foster, William Leete of Denver, Colorado), Lyndsay Brooke Pue (husband Art - child Harriet Grace of Charlotte, North Carolina). Bill is also survived by his two sisters Betty Holobaugh Born (son James Gordon and wife Veronica, children Jimmy and Paulina of Virginia) and Joan Holobaugh Rogers Hightower (husband Hugh Hightower and son William Rogers Holobaugh -"Scott" and wife Charlotte of Jonesboro, AR).
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Betty Brown Childs Holobaugh and his father James Harvey Holobaugh, and mother Willie Irene Foster Holobaugh.
Visitation will be held at the McNabb Funeral Home (Pocahontas) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on September 18th. The funeral service will be held the following day at 10:00 a.m. at the McNabb Funeral Home with Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
