William “Bean” Dorman Bean, 67, of Imboden departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Pocahontas Nursing and Rehab.
Today we remember and honor a man whose life was defined not by perfection, but by perseverance, hard work, and an unwavering love for those he held dear.
He was a man who spent his life working with his hands, solving problems, and building a life not from privilege or ease, but from hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. He believed that a person’s word mattered, that a job worth doing was worth doing right, and that no challenge was too great when met with determination and faith. Earning what he had, through long days, tired hands, and countless sacrifices, he built a life the only way he knew how-with determination, grit, and a willingness to do whatever was necessary. Nothing was handed to him, and he took pride in every accomplishment, no matter how small or large.
He did things his own way. He didn’t wait for perfect circumstances or endless resources. Instead, he made the most of what he had, turning obstacles into opportunities and teaching those around him that success is measured not by what you are given, but by what you do with it. His strength came not only from his work ethic but from his character-honest, dependable, and steadfast.
Like all of us, he was not without flaws. He carried his share of burdens and wrestled with his own vices. He made mistakes, faced hardships, and walked roads that were not always easy. But those who truly knew him understood that beneath those imperfections was a good man with a generous heart and a fierce loyalty to family and friends.
To those who knew him, he was a source of wisdom, humor, and quiet strength. He was the kind of man who could fix almost anything, lend a helping hand without being asked, and offer advice that came from experience rather than theory.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and devotion. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
He will be remembered not as a perfect man, but as a real man-a man who worked hard, loved his family and friends, stood his ground, and lived life on his own terms.
“A life measured not by wealth or fame, but by hard work, love, and the respect of those who knew him.”
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dorman and Juanita Bean; sister, Sonja K. Nash, niece, Suzanne Ridge, grandparents, William and Veta Bean and Earnest and Katie Songer.
