Wilda Nadine
Tyler
June 3, 1932 – April 5, 2026
Harris Cemetery
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Central time)
Wilda Nadine Tyler made her transition from this life Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her home in Stone Bridge, Pocahontas, Arkansas. She was born June 3, 1932, in the Stokes Community, Randolph County, Arkansas to Reginal Mayhew and Lura Ann (Reeves) Tyler.
Nadine grew up in the Stokes Community. She was a member of the church of Christ at Stokes, having been baptized at an early age. She attended the rural school at Stokes thru the 8th grade and graduated from Maynard High School in 1949. Nadine worked for Pocahontas Federal Savings and Loan prior to her beginning college at Harding College (University) at Searcy. While at Searcy, Nadine worked as a secretary in the Bible Department. After grading college at Harding, she taught one year of school at Senath, Missouri. then moved and taught first grade for many years at High Ridge, Missouri. She took an early retirement to move back to the Stokes and Brockett Community to care for her aged parents. She was also a caregiver for her sister for a few years.
Nadine was involved in some mission work in Australia.
Her zeal for serving the Lord could be seen throughout her life. Even when her voice came to but a whisper, she told those ministering to her, “I want you to be a Christian”. She often asked some to read certain Bible verses or chapters in the Bible. Whether you were a doctor or nurse or anyone who came into her room, one of her first questions was, “Where do you go to church”? She was an example of a Christian lady.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents Reginal Mayhew Tyler and Lura Ann Reeves Tyler; her brother-in-law and sister, Thomas “Tom” Waddle and Jennielea Tyler Waddle; her niece, Candice Waddle.
Nadine is survived by one great niece, Cassie Autumn Waddle Jacobson and her husband Lee Jacobson. Also, several cousins and friends survive. Nadine will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Harris Cemetery at 2 pm with Bro. Jimmy Young officiating.
Nadine has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Harris Cemetery, c/o Kenny Seawel, 406 Waymon Trail, Pocahontas, or the church of Christ at Stokes c/o Michael Ulmer, 8132 HWY 115, Pocahontas, AR.
