Monette - Wesley Erwin Williams, aged 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025. Born on March 19, 1934, to the late James Hardy and Ethel Baker Williams in Lake City, Wesley lived a life full of love, service, and dedication.

Wesley was a proud retired U.S. Army veteran, serving for over 20 years with two tours in Vietnam. Throughout his military career, he was stationed at various locations in the U.S. and Germany, where he formed lasting friendships and touched many lives. His bravery and commitment to his country were evident in every step he took. He was a man loved by all and helped area veterans.

Beyond his military service, Wesley had a passion for gardening, woodworking, and fishing. He was a member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church of Paragould, American Legion in Paragould, and a member of the VFW.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 31 years, Laura Faye Williams; son David (Linda) Williams of Manila; daughter Debby (Bill) Gryner of Cave City; two stepsons Gary (Gerri) Waller of Kansas City MO and Sammy (Sonya) Waller of Jonesboro; sister Mary Long of Jonesboro; two brothers Morris Williams of Meridian MS , Joe Williams of Moscow TN; 18 grandchildren; 35 greatgrandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Helen Irene Williams, a son Daniel Lee Williams; stepson Stanley  Waller; stepdaughter Debbie Stewart; two brothers James Williams and Sam Williams; a sister Inez Tilley; step grandson Joe Waller and step great-grandson Taylor Evans.

A family visitation will be held at the Monette Church of Christ Wednesday April 16, 2025 from 12 to 1 pm, then a public visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be at the church at 2 pm with Rev. Royce Boling officiating.  A burial will follow in Monette Cemetery with full military honors. Services will be held under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Thomas Williams, Daniel Williams, Timothy Williams, Henry Webster, Jordan Waller, and Wesley Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Williams, Andrew Williams, Brent Williams, Trea Barnes, Conner Webster, and Jacob Webster.
