Jonesboro- Waymon Lee Wimpy, 54, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born January 22, 1960 in Jonesboro to the late Thad Waymon and Cora Lee Woodruff Wimpy. He was a farmer and a member of the Valley View Missionary Baptist Church. He had been constable for Valley View and President of the State Constable Association and an avid hunter. He founded "Karaoke on the River" held every 4th of July on the Spring River. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Chad and Mary Wimpy of McCrory; Rebecca and Shawn Miller of Lebanon, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller, Tyler Wimpy, Olivia Wimpy and Isaac Wimpy; as well as numerous family and friends. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Hart officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Thursday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Ave in Jonesboro. A special thanks to his friends and care givers, Kirk and Jeanette Dunn, Donna Morris and Debra Rogers and well as other caregivers. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Valley View MBC. The family requests lasting memorials be sent to the Thad Wimpy Scholarship Fund at Valley View Schools.
