Mrs. Wanda Grace Vance of Jonesboro, departed this life Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, at the age of 94. She was born September 15, 1919 in Whitten, AR, the daughter of David Franklin Sellers and Sarah East Sellers. Wanda worked for their construction company for over 52 years before retiring. She was the rock of her family and loved spending time with them. She also loved her church family at the First United Methodist Church. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, David and Sarah Sellers, her husband of 66 years, Howard Grant Vance, and 12 siblings. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Bailey and her husband Don, two sons, Gene Vance and his wife Peggy, and David Vance and his wife Alice, all of Jonesboro, as well as 6 grandchildren, Dr. Patrick Bailey of Phoenix, AZ, Greg Vance of Jonesboro, David Vance II, of Jonesboro, Derek Vance of Jonesboro, Seketheia Vance of Jonesboro, and Shelley Teat of Jonesboro, 6 great grandchildren and numerous neices and nephews that were special to her. Visitation has been set for Sunday evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Atrium. Graveside services will be 8:00 a.m. Monday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. John Miles and Rev. Patti Sword officiating. There will be a Memorial Service following the graveside at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church. Her sons, sons in law, grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
