Mr. Walter Lee Jackson of Harrisburg, departed this life Friday, August 18, 2023, in Jonesboro, at the age of 79.

He was born March 2, 1944 in Marked Tree, the son of the late Albert Jackson and Hazel Ethridge Jackson.

Walter was a night watchman for many years at RazorRock Concrete and was a School Bus Driver for Harrisburg School District since 1998. He liked camping and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved going to auctions. He married Dorothy Cheney in 1966 and they enjoyed 57 years together.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Jackson; one brother, Andy Jackson and five sisters, Edna Cheney, Peggy Fowler, Linda Wilder, Judy Burns, and Betty Gonsoulin.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Jackson of Harrisburg; one daughter, Sherry Jackson of Harrisburg; one son, Gary Jackson, of Fisher; six grandchildren, Alison Jackson, Breanna Jackson, Jamie Jackson, Melinda Jackson, Gary Jackson, Jr, and Jessica Jackson, and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24th, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with Rev. Virgil Ramey officiating.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg has been entrusted with all arrangements.
