Trumann-Walter "Dub" Henry Smith, 85, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1938 in Harrisburg to the late Homer and Lillie Green Smith. Walter was a salesman for Hillman Fasteners for over 20 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Trumann. He liked to fish, listen to religious tapes and study his Bible. He also loved to visit with people.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joy Smith; a daughter, Angela (Mike) Webb of Trumann; one brother, David (Ann) Smith of Southaven, MS; two sisters, Lois Hare and Lula Duncan from Booneville, MS; an uncle, Charles Green of FL; seven grandchildren, Levi Jones, Saylor Webb, Brylee Webb, Revis Kemper, Beth Kemper, Noah Guy and Kaydence Kemper and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Smith.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Healing Hands Community Church, 1817 West Main St. in Trumann with Rev. Anthony Patterson and Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Thursday February 8, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Levi Jones, Noah Guy, Revis Kemper, Corey Overstreet, Zack Walton, Jakub Golden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rev. Kenneth Doke, Coy Sutton, Marvin Pagan, Gerald Smith and his nephews.
