Bartlett, TN - W. Vaughn Woods, 75, passed from this life into his eternal life in Heaven on January 24, 2021.
He was born December 27, 1945 in Cash to the late Santford and Pauline Whitehead Woods. He was formerly of Jonesboro and lived in Memphis for eighteen years. Vaughn was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. To those who knew him, he was a kind, thoughtful, generous and loving person.
He was a 1964 graduate of Valley View High School. He was a Purple Heart recipient while serving in the United States Army in Vietnam. After his term in the Army, Vaughn went on to make a career in interior design, furniture sales and management, holding management positions with Flack's and Mayo in Atlanta, Georgia. He was also published in the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Woods and sisters, Carolyn Carr, Wanda Morgan and Connie Tedder.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Lucy Woods; stepson, Ray Jackson Jr.; granddaughter, Sara Jackson; a brother, Roger Woods of Calico Rock and his adorable princess cat, Maggie and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Cowgill officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the charity of donor choice.
