Warm Springs- Vondus Franklin "Wiskers" Elledge, 84, of Warm Springs, AR departed this life on August 25, 2017 at his home.
He was born on April 16, 1933 in Truman, AR to Lester and Mary Gladys (Riley) Elledge. He lived most of his early years in Marked Tree where he graduated from high school in 1954. He went on to enroll in college at ASU in Jonesboro where he met the love of his life. He married Carolyn Ann Getson on December 29, 1955 just days before departing for boot camp after joining the US Navy. He and his beloved wife would spend the first two years of married life in Pensacola, FL where they would start their family of four. After this he would return to Arkansas and the regular profession of offset press operator to provide for his growing family. He was a very hard working, giving, and well loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. In his later years he would spend his summer days in East Pocahontas "peddling" his fruits and vegetables next to the Pocahontas ice house.
He is survived by his sons, Randall "Pete" Elledge and Jeffrey Elledge of Warm Springs; daughter, Vonda Sue (Tom) Bailey of Pocahontas; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth "Libby" Elledge of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Michael (Siohban) Elledge of Warm Springs, Adam (fianc Krystle Stallings) Bailey of Pocahontas, Maranda Elledge of Warm Springs, John William (Meagan) Elledge of Fayetteville, April (fianc Jordan Richardson) Elledge, Natasha Rodgers of Pocahontas, Zachary (fianc Breanna Wilbanks) Elledge of West Lafayette, IN, Shelby Elledge of Pocahontas; great grandchildren, Hunter Dickson of North Little Rock, Karoline Garza of Maynard, Summer Bailey of Pocahontas, Franklin Elledge of Maynard, Dylin Elledge of Warm Springs, Hayden Bailey and Dakota Rodgers of Pocahontas, Jordin Elledge of Warm Springs, Liam Campbell of Fayetteville, Jayden Richarson of Arlington, TN, Brayden Bailey, Cooper, and Aubrey Richardson all of Pocahontas; siblings, Leroy (Barbara) Elledge of Elkhart, IN, Hattie Elizabeth (Tom) Berger and Jason (Diana) Elledge of South Bend, IN, Renda (Greg) Ballew of Mishawaka, IN, James (Peggy) Taylor of Yuma, AZ, Doris Elledge of South Bend, IN, Patricia Elledge of Mishawaka, IN, Rebra Hummel of Dowagiac, MI; sisters-in-law, Norma Mouser of Jonesboro, Helen Sue (Dallas) Roberts of O'Kean, Susan Luczi of Tuscon, AZ; and brother-in-law, John Carmen (Jerri) Getson of Milton, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 44 years, Carolyn Ann (Getson) Elledge (2003); brother, Johnny Elledge (1982); son, John Kevin Elledge (2016); granddaughter, Heather (Bailey) Dickson (2012); and great grandson, Austin Thomas Bailey (2009).
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 11-1pm at McNabb Funeral Home. No funeral service as cremation has been chosen and his ashes will be laid to rest in Jones Cemetery, Delaplaine. He was without a doubt the best father, grandfather and great grandfather ever and his will be greatly missed.
