Mrs. Vivian Maxine Bates, of North Little Rock, formerly of Harrisburg, departed this life at the Baptist Health Medical Center, in North Little Rock, Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the age of 79.
She was born October 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Henry Morgan and Zola McCracken Morgan.
Maxine was a waitress for many years and also worked for Timex and a cardboard company. She used to sew and loved her flower gardens and cooking. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bates, Sr., her first husband, Leslie Joe Taylor, one brother, Raymond Morgan and a sister, Connie Mae Holt.
She is survived by 4 sons, Bill Taylor (Ann) of Bryant, George Bates, Jr. of Trumann, Terry Bates (Emily) of Lebanon, MO, and Allen Bates (Deborah) of Harrisburg, 4 daughters, Diane Page (Jimmy) of N. Little Rock, Barbie Bates of Harrisburg, Lisa Moore (Jim) of Cash and Betty Bates of Harrisburg, 2 sisters, Berniece Rice and Juanita Davidson, both of Manila, 15 grandchildren and _19_ great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dan Brawner officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, 12:30 till service time.
Pallbearers will be Brian Page, Wesley Bentley, Landon Bates, Krismon Chambers, Shane Reeves and Jim Moore..
