Pocahontas- Virginia Ann Simkins, 64, of Pocahontas passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

She was born July 5, 1953 in Streeter, Illinois, daughter of Joseph and Venita Ann Duncan Kenner. She was united in marriage to Gerald "Hoss" Simkins.

She was a 1971 graduate of Doniphan High School, worked for Waterloo Industries for 30 years, and was a member of the Assembly of God church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Vernon Kenner; one sister, Viola Redus; one granddaughter, Angelina Faith Simkins and one grandson, Rugar Cole Lasiter.

She is survived by her husband; six children, Jackie Farris Jr of Pocahontas, Jennie Romine of Portia, Lisa Rohrer of Pocahontas, Gerald Simkins Jr of Walnut Ridge, Vernon Simkins of Pocahontas, and John Simkins of Pocahontas; 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one sister, Donna Carmickle of Maynard and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, September 18, 2017 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 7 PM with Terry Miller officiating. Cremation will take place following the services.
