Obituary

Virginia Ann (Rothgery) Norris, 69, of Eureka Springs, departed this life on July 9, 2018, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, after fighting cancer for well over four years.

She was born December 19, 1948 in Elyria, OH, the first child of Paul and Marguerite (Beckloff) Rothgery. The family moved to Jonesboro when Ginny was very young. Growing up in Jonesboro, she was a 1967 graduate of Jonesboro High School. Ginny married her high school classmate and sweetheart, Robert (Steve), in August 1969.

After returning to Arkansas in 2006, she and her husband of almost 49 years, also sold her designs at many of the large arts & crafts fairs in the Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri region. The move back to NW Arkansas followed 34 years away from the state, as a military spouse, caring mother, and later the Senior Seasonal Buyer for A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts, a large East Coast craft chain. Her work involved lengthy travel to Hong Kong and Taiwan. During their years away in military service, the family lived in California, Delaware, Oklahoma, Illinois, Germany, Spain, and New Jersey. After the USAF years, they remained an additional 14 years in New Jersey, before the move back "home".

She is survived by her husband, Steve; two sons and their wives, Robert, Jr and Katie, of Baltimore, MD and John and Katie, of Sherman Oaks, CA; her mother, Marguerite Rothgery, 89, of Jonesboro; two brothers, Larry Rothgery and Rick and Debbie Rothgery of Jonesboro; two sisters and their husbands, Polly and Rick Stone, of Bartlett, TN, and Teri and Howard Willingham, of near Adamsville, TN; several wonderful nieces and nephews.
