Jonesboro- Virginia Bond Housley, 72, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 2, 1944 in Jonesboro to the late L. C. and Francis Bond. She enjoyed her eleven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter and gave advice freely to her children, grandchildren and other family about the importance of Bible Studies and always walking with the Lord.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church for over fifty years and also attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church of years when able. She was a TV ministry member of Central Baptist after heart surgeries.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Dub Mask and a brother, Paul Bond.
She leaves her husband and also her best friend and constant companion of 45 yrs., Tucker Housley of the home; three sons and a step-daughter, Jeff Housley (Angela), Brian Housley (Dana), Hal Housley (Cristy) all of Jonesboro and Holly Self (Dan) of The Colony, Texas; nine grandsons and two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; three brothers, Ralph Bond (Judy) of Sherwood, Wayne Bond (Sherris) of Jonesboro and Steve Bond of Little Rock; a sister, Karen Chambers (Gary) of Rogers; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon and 2:00 pm Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. N. Wayne Clark and Chaplain Edward Pruett officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons and honorary pallbearers, Cletus and Shirley Collins, Elmer and Dianna Brown, Ron and Etta Hall and Dennis and Brenda Gibson.
