Monette- Virginia Gail George, 70, departed this life Monday February 15, 2021 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.

She was born May 7, 1950 in Tuckerman to the late Earnest and Lela Wheeler. Virginia graduated from Monette High School. She had lived in Hoxie and Walnut Ridge for many years. She worked as a CNA for 25 years. Some of the things she enjoyed were gardening and watching family feud with Steve Harvey. Virginia cared deeply for her family and loved watching her grandchildren grow up. She was a really good mother and longtime homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ed Wheeler, Norman Wheeler, and Gary Wheeler; two sisters Kathrine Lewis and Glenda Milsap.

She is survived by her daughters, Christie Pittman of Mt. Vernon, MO and Donna Kelly (Ralph) of Jacksonville; sons, Stacy Dawson of Mt. Vernon, MO, Telly Dawson of Walnut Ridge, Kelly Dawson of Walnut Ridge, David Dawson (Samantha) of Little Rock; sister, Betty Blackwell of Mississippi; brother Steven Wheeler (Loretta) of Hoxie; 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and beloved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be at noon Friday, February 19, 2021 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. until time of service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dalton Richmond, Dylan Richmond, Boady Pittman, Josh Dawson, Ryan Dawson, and Telly Dawson.

All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
