Virginia Lee Sims Baker went to live with the Lord on December 20, 2014. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 23, 1921, to Arthur Edward and Amy Price Sims. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her loving husband of 69 years, James Roy Baker. Virginia attended Southeastern State College in Durant, Oklahoma before working at 1st National Bank in Durant, and later serving as Office Manager at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company in Oklahoma City for 18 years. She was a charter member of Baptist Temple Church in Oklahoma City and served as a Sunday school teacher for nearly 60 years. Virginia spent her golden years with her husband at the family farm on Baker Den Road in Randolph County, Arkansas and at various residences in Oklahoma City. She is survived by her sister, Beverly McKeehan of Kansas City, MO; children Pat and Charles Prescott of Shawnee, Dr. Jim and Melissa Baker of Oklahoma City, Susan and Bill Wooten of Clemson, South Carolina; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved and respected her for her loving ways, her easy laugh, and her great intelligence and selflessness. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 23 at Hahn-Cook Funeral Home, 6600 Broadway Extension in Oklahoma City beginning at 5:00 PM. The memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM. A short visitation and memorial service will be held at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Arkansas at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Interment will follow at Stubblefield Cemetery in Randolph County.
