Monette- Virgie Shirley, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016. She was born November 8, 1931 in Leachville to the late Ray and Mary Langston Rogers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Earnest Shirley, Terry Shirley, Bobby Shirley, Ronny Shirley, Debby Morris and Tammy Oliver; a brother, Junior Ray Rogers; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her husband, E. L. Shirley; two brothers, George Rogers and Troy Rogers; two sisters, Velma Platz and Annie Lee Patterson. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Eddie Dunigan officiating. Interment will follow at Macey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Shirley Jr., Bobby Shirley Jr., Blake Allen Webster, Greg Allen Shirley, Christopher Shirley and Zac Tyler Shirley and as honorary pallbearer, Dennis Oliver.
