Victor Ray Martin, 72, of Pocahontas passed away Monday, August 24, 2026 at his home.

He was born September 24, 1953 in Pocahontas to the late Lester Wilbur and Earnestine Roach Martin. Victor was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a cook for Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He found great joy in his devoted hobbies of hunting, fishing, cooking, gunsmithing, and reloading.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Earnestine Martin; daughter, Blossom Earnestine Martin; and grandparents, Harry Robert and Ethel Holmstrom Martin and brother, Robert (Bob) Martin. 

Victor is survived by his wife of 27 years, Vonda Ann Yancy Martin; children, Ashlee (David) Hagar of Spring Hill, TN and Kevin Martin of Swansboro, NC; grandchildren, Kaylee Hagar, Ethan Hagar, Bella Martin, and Aiden Bowling; great-grandson, Parker Bowling; by several beloved nieces and nephews; and by special friends, Teddy Watkins, Danny Gould, Ronnie Hagood, Les Mizell, Bryant Skeet, Dewain Williams, Eddie Simmons, David Rodgers, Nancy Barthel, Scott Baguley, and Monte Johnson.

Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 AM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM with Darrell Fears officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps and by VFW Post 4556 Honor Guard. Burial will take place at a later date in Brockett Cemetery.
