Vernon "Buck" Dalton, 87, of Pocahontas passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 in St. Joseph, Michigan.
Buck was born December 7, 1933 in Warm Springs to the late Ralph and Edith Marlett Dalton. He was a welder and volunteered at the Pocahontas Senior Center for several years.
Buck enjoyed family time and had a love for music. He started singing at a young age and continued throughout his entire life. He recorded with a Southern Gospel group called the Maynard Quartet. He shared his love of music with his family and friends every chance he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Hammon Dalton; two daughters Pam and Valerie; two sons, Gerald and Rickey; two sisters, Maxine and Virginia; and two brothers, Dale and Ervin.
Buck is survived by his children, Belinda of Matthews,, MO, Steve and Retha of Sikeston, MO, Larry and Tina of Niles, MI, Ronnie and Donna of Berrien Center, MI, and Diana, Michael, and Teresa of Berrien Springs, MI; twenty-six grandchildren; siblings, Sonja of Morley, MO, Billie of Kalamazoo, MI, and Phyllis of Cape Girardeau, MO, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 12-1 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 1 PM with Burley Lynxwiler and Billie R. Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Cemetery at Old Burr, MO.
