Verna Mae Poole, 84, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born on September 20, 1940, in Dalton, Arkansas, Verna was the beloved daughter of the late Charlie and Notra McCandless Brooks. She later made Pocahontas her home. Verna was known for her dedication and joy in her work, spending many years making golf bags — a craft she truly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gene Brooks, Bill Brooks, and Willard Brooks; one grandchild, Summer Ungerank; and her sister-in-law, Mignon Brooks.

Verna is lovingly remembered by her children: Tim (Karen) Ungerank of Sulphur Springs, AR; Carol Tyler of Pocahontas; and Terry Ungerank of Pocahontas. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Joe (Katie) Ungerank, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Dobbins, Cassie (Landon) McGarrah, Eric (Terra) Webb, Jennifer (Bobby) Howard, Shane (Ashley) Ungerank, and Cody (Amber) Ungerank. Her legacy continues through her 16 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother, Bobby (Ginger) Brooks; her sister-in-law, Linda Brooks; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Brother Terry Miller. Verna will be laid to rest at Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers honored to serve include Terry Ungerank, Shane Ungerank, Cody Ungerank, Courtney Dunn, Charles Brooks, and Craig Brooks. Tim Ungerank and Joe Ungerank will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Verna's kindness, warmth, and strength will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
