Pocahontas- Verda Fern Niswonger, 79, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Five Rivers Medical Center. Verda was born May 27, 1934 in Minturn to the late Ira and Mauld Spaulding Housh. She was raised by Earl and Lottie Grisson. Verda was the 2012 Mrs. Ridgecrest Healthcare and Rehab Valentine Queen and Mrs. Pocahontas Healthcare and Rehab Queen 2013. She loved fishing, camping, Nintendo, quilting, putting together puzzles and working search books. Verda is preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer Niswonger, daughter Felida (Corky) Ann Niswonger, brothers J.L., Harvey Gene Housh, and John Elvin Housh, sisters Bonnie Hulett, Ila Barnett, Erma Lee Simpson, and Alice Eldridge. Survived by children Jessica Richmond, Lynn, AR., Margare Ortiz, Eagle Lake, TX., David and Penny Niswonger, Lynn, AR., Drenda and Daniel Sanchez, Sealy, TX., Bonnie and Richard Harmon, Cherokee Village, AR., Sheila and Danny Martin, Lynn, AR. 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and many friends and family. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Friday, February 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with Jay Hicks officiating in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Garden Cemetery. Pallbearers: Stoney Cook, Daniel Sanchez Jr., Craig Martin, Jim Looney, Michael Bounds, Ben Ortiz. Honorary Pallbearers: Jesus Ortiz, Toby Manciaz, Randy Spades, Phillip Penn.
