Jonesboro- Mrs. Vera Buhrmester, 96, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Flo Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born October 12, 1918 in Salem to the late John and Birchie Stephens Isenhower. Mrs. Vera enjoyed 25 years working in the cafeteria at Valley View Schools. She was a member of the Community of Christ and was a volunteer for March of Dimes for many years. She was an avid Cardinals fan, enjoyed flower gardening and watching birds. She will be remembered for her wonderful cinnamon rolls and being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Buhrmester Sr.; a granddaughter and a great-grandson. She is survived by her children, Bonita Kirksey (Kenneth) of Jonesboro, Johnetta Hunter (Bill) of Lafe, Virginia Harris (Louie), E. J. Buhrmester Jr. (Myra), R. W. "Fuz" Buhrmester (Mable) all of Jonesboro, Cynthia Chapman (Melvin) and Cathy Clark all of Hot Springs; a brother, Vern Isenhower of Louisburg, Kansas; a sister, Kawanda Benton of Dallas, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with John Sawyer Jr., Bruce Primm, Carolyn Passmore and Martin Passmore officiating. Burial will follow at Keller's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2015 at Gregg -Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave in Jonesboro. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Kirksey, Billy Hunter, Ray Hunter, Eugene Hunter, Mark Harris, Chris Buhrmester, Jared Buhrmester and Randy Kirksey and as honorary pallbearers Ray Buhrmester, Kyle Chapman, Josh Chapman, Jason Young, Josh Paul, David Shelton, Knea Morris, Kim Brack, Tara Stroope, Ashley Paul, Shannon Young and James McCellan.
