Velma Deloris Griffin Smith, 70, of Pocahontas, departed this life on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Velma was born on April 3, 1954, in Van Buren, MO., to the late Lester Griffin and Harriete Grubb Griffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Harriete Griffin; brothers, Bobby Griffin, Jimmy Griffin, Wilson Griffin, Jackie Ray Griffin, and Benny Griffin; sister, Barbara Hodge.

Velma is survived by her life partner, Craig Baldwin; brothers, Charley Griffin and Lloyd Griffin; caregiver, Paula Ricker and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

There will be a graveside service at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Mount Pleasant (Pitman) Cemetery with Jeff Hamm officiating.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Chris Dowdy, Chris Henry, James Mars Ricker, Mark Ricker, Nicholas Baldwin, and Rob Griffin.

The honorary pallbearer is BJ Diller.
