Mrs. Velma Lee Conrad of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday, October 06, 2016, in Jonesboro, at the age of 70. She was born April 22, 1946, the daughter of the late William Ed Vernor ad Eva Vernor. Velma was a former employee of the Johansen Shoe Factory and American Greetings. She also worked several years at the Court House in Harrisburg. She loved to fish and spending time with her family. She married David Conrad in 1965 and they enjoyed 50 years together. She was a member of the Bolivar Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Harrisburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Emory Paul Vernor. She is survived by her husband, David Conrad of the home, one daughter, Lisa Mitleff (Anthony) of Harrisburg, one sister, Louise Tanksley of Texas, two grandchildren, Michael McMullin and Magan Mays (Robert), all of Harrisburg, and two great grandchildren, Hannah Mays and Logan Mays. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Kausler and Rev. Alvin Swan officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday evening, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
