Obituary
Jonesboro- Vana Elisa Tharp, 84, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 at her home.
She was born July 5, 1934 in Harrisburg to the late Roy and Edna Robison Spence. She retired after thirty-two years as a medical assistant. Mrs. Tharp was a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary at NEA Baptist Hospital for many years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Leo Tharp; a son, Rich Tharp of Memphis; a grandson, Richie Tharp of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Joyce Lovelady of Jonesboro.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan Elkins officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Judes Children Hospital or Alzheimer Research.
