Tony Leo Hawkins passed away March 24, 2026, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 59 years of age.
He was born in Paragould, Arkansas, on December 2,1966, to the late Billy Gerald Hawkins, and Pat Woodsmall Hawkins. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Billy Jay Hawkins (Lynn) of Monette, and Royce Gerald Hawkins of Caraway. His nieces and nephews Wes Hawkins, Amber Thompson, Chelsea Bettis, Kaley Sanders, Jaycee Hawkins, and Kerra Pilgrim will miss him. He was preceded in death by his nephew Chris Hawkins.
Tony’s passion for music led him to spend hours listening to and researching artists. For a time, he wrote poetry and had a hope that someday his words could be set to music.
He was also a trivia buff and could answer many questions on Jeopardy, which always amazed those close to him. He was a farmer, a truck driver, a fisherman, and a comedian. He always had a joke and a smile.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ken Ball, Cole Hawkins, Wes Hawkins, Eddie Robbins, Mark Hickman, and Matt Hickman.
His honorary pallbearers are John Coggins, Taylor Pittman, Mike White, Shane Parker, Lynn Pyland, Curtis Hawkins, and Johnny Hawkins.
The visitation will be Friday, March 27, at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Monette, under direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout funeral home of Jonesboro. Eddie Dunigan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Monette cemetery.
Tony’s family and his friends will forever remember him.
