Mr. Tommy D. Traynom of Harrisburg, departed this life Monday, July 6, 2020, at his home, at the age of 78 .
He was born January 4th,1942 in Greenfield, the son of the late Johnny Traynom and Mary McClellan Traynom.
Tommy married Shirley Wallace Traynom on August 13, 1965 and they enjoyed 39 years together before her death on August 21, 2004.
Tommy was a life time resident of Harrisburg. He graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1961. He worked in grain elevators for many years and owned and operated Shirley's Package store for over 24 years. He was a U.S. veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. Tommy enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and frog gigging.
In addition to his parents, Johnny Traynom and Mary Traynom and his wife Shirley, he was preceded in death by his brother John David Traynom and his sister Martha Brown.
He is survived by his brothers Pete Traynom (Mildred) and Roger Traynom (Shanna), his sisters Bonnie Wallace (Paul) and Kathy Parker (Bob), all of Harrisburg, his daughter Tracy Traynom of Forrest City, his grandchildren Spencer Traynom of Jonesboro, Mallory Davis (Aaron), and Cary Traynom (Bailie) of Harrisburg, his great grand children Halyn Traynom, Addalyn Davis, and Lane Davis all of Harrisburg.
A memorial service will be held Thursday evening, July 9, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. at the Greenfield baptist church. Arrangements are being handled by Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg.
