Obituary

Little Rock - Tommy Joe Parker, 64, passed Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born August 18, 1955 in Red Bay, Alabama to the late Charles and Earnestine Clanton Parker. Tom served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal. He retired from St Vincent Hospital where he was a registered nurse. He was an avid reader and loved motorcycles, gardening and traveling to Florida.

He was survived by his wife, Gaye Hendrix Parker; two daughters, Sarah Parker of Jacksonville and Hannah McCornack of Germany; two sisters, Ann Massey of Red Bay and Cathy Miller (Rear Admiral Joseph H. Miller); three grandchildren and his dog, "Toot" whom he loved dearly.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Parker Blackburn and grandparents, Walter Clanton and Flarry Clanton.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Oaklawn Cemetery at 800 Loberg Lane in Jonesboro with Rev. N. Wayne Clark and Rev. Edward Pruett officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are the Friday night table at "The Branch" in Little Rock.
