Harrisburg- Thurman Ray Nuckles passed away peacefully Thursday, August 4, 2022 at his home. He was born in Caraway on September 22, 1938. Mr. Nuckles made Harrisburg his home for the last 20 years in his retirement. He attended Arkansas State University and graduated with honors in 1959.  He spent most of his working life as a sales representative for several large companies. He never net a stranger. He was generous to anyone in need. He loved shopping with Shirley… some say because of his devotion to her, but she says to keep track of her spending! He was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Shirley Nuckles; daughter, Kelie Blankenship (Mark) of Avondale, AZ; son, Greg Nuckles (Charlotte) of Germantown, TN and great-grandson, Tyler Rodden of Trumann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Izola Nuckles; brother, Dr. CG Nuckles; daughter, Diana Nuckles Foster and granddaughter, Valerie Rodden.

A visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to Ray's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital.
