Obituary

Allen Hancock, 87 of Bay left this world Friday, August 2, 2013. Allen was born January 30, 1926 in Kirkville, Mississippi, but live most of his life in Bay, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bay. Allen was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Allen was a World War II veteran serving in the 42nd Rainbow Division and was also a veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Bay First Baptist Church. Allen was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years to Willadean Lounette Layman Hancock, one son, Dennis Glenn Hancock, father Jesse Lee Hancock, mother Mae Hancock, and a brother Edward Hancock . He is survived by one son, Tom (Phyllis) Hancock of Bay; one daughter, Darlene (Dale) Wood of Bay; five grandchildren; Shannon (Kurt) Beeson of Jonesboro; Michael Hancock of Memphis, TN; David (Lynsey) Hancock of Little Rock; Tiffany (Robbie) Gibson of Bay; and Amanda Gulley of Jonesboro; five great grandchildren; Keith Beeson, Kyle Beeson, Dax Gibson, Xander Gibson and Preston Hancock and special friend Alma Davis. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bay First Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Active pall bearers include Bill Newton, Randy Mink, Carbert Rodgers, Robbie Gibson, Kurt Beeson and Keith Brown. Honorary pall bearers include his domino and coffee buddies. Lasting memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Bay.
