Theresa Marie Miller, 100, passed away on February 25, 2016 at Union County Nursing Home, Blairsville, GA. Theresa was born November 4, 1915 at Marmaduke, Greene County, Arkansas, the third child of Walter Lee and Myrtle Whitt. Her father was a farmer and carpenter and excelled at both. Her mother ran the family household and was an excellent cook, loved gardening and flowers, and made beautiful quilts; all skills which she imparted to Theresa when she was a child. Her mother and father loved to fish and camp, and travel to the hills of western Randolph County, AR. Theresa did not like fishing or camping, or the hills much for that matter, but as a child had to go along. When her father's health failed, he retired and moved to western Randolph County. Theresa moved with them to take care of her father, as was expected of daughters at that time. She subsequently met Frank Miller, a Randolph County, AR native. They married and had two sons, William Frank Miller Jr., and Virgil Lee Miller. Theresa and Frank lived in Randolph County most of their married life except for a few years when they, along with their two boys, lived in St. Louis, MO, and the last several years when she lived in Georgia to be near family. Theresa had a strong work ethic and was always busy in the home or outside. She was an excellent gardener, a wonderful cook, an avid quilter, and loved crafts. She and another lady ran the school lunchroom for several years; she worked at the shoe factory, the County Treasurers office, the Senior Citizens Center, and finally retired at the age of 82. She was an active member of the Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, other organizations, and did a lot of voluntary work. Preceding Theresa in death were her parents, her son Virgil Lee Miller, her husband Frank Miller, and two brothers and two sisters. A younger sister died at two years of age. She is survived by her son William F. Miller Jr. (Margaret) of Blairsville, GA, granddaughter Amy Marie Hanks (Christopher) of Dunwoody, GA, grandson William F. Miller III (Kelly) of Dunwoody, GA, grandson Michael Lee Miller of Pocahontas, AR, and great-grand children Brian and Catherine Hanks and Kaitlyn Miller of Dunwoody, GA, Mary Katherine and Payton Miller of Jonesboro, AR, nieces and nephew. Visitation will be Monday, February 29, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 PM at McNabb Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with John Stoll and Danny Roark officiating. Internment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bill Miller, Mike Miller, Allen Cox, Bob White, Millard Wells and Waymon Wells.
