Mr. Ted H. Johnson of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg at the age of 86. He was born February 17, 1927 in Lepanto, the son of Tobe Johnson and Julia Boling Johnson. Ted was employed by Coca-Cola for many years and worked with his brother, A.A. Johnson for many years in the flea market business. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in Korea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Knee Johnson, three brothers, William Johnson, Jess Johnson and Alfred A. Johnson, and four sisters, Virginia Schmidt, Betty Churchwell, Arizona Layton and Cindy Davis. He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Swanner of Jonesboro, one daughter-in-law, Sue Johnson of Harrisburg, one brother, Joe Johnson of Buckeye, Arizona, two sisters, Sylvia Thurman of Neosho, Missouri and Sharon Johnson of Denver, Colorado, two grandsons, Donald Johnson of Little Rock and David Swanner of Jonesboro, and three grandchildren, Xavier Johnson, Xander Johnson, and Destiny Swanner. Graveside services have been set for 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014, at Holly Springs Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to services.
