Kalispell, Montana- Tara Brooke Metheny, 43, passed away in her chosen hometown of Kelispell, MT on Sunday, June 6, 2021.

Tara was born September 28, 1977 in Norfolk, Virginia to Dan and Jane Dillin Metheny. Tara loved Glacier Park in Montana and Flathead Lake was her peaceful place. She loved her fur babies, Scout and Lucy, the outdoors, kayaking, hiking, reading, cooking and taking pictures. She graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a degree in Computer Information Systems. She also held a Bachelors in Culinary Arts.

Tara is survived by her parents, Dan and Jane Dillin Metheny; a brother, Steven Daniel Metheny (Lena); a niece, Alena Ovchinnikova all of Trumann; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; lifelong friend, Julie Hart Moore of Virginia Beach, Virginia and special friend, Jason Lake of Kalispell.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lacy and Virgie Dillin and Alfred and Golvia Metheny and an uncle, George Dillin.

A celebration of her life will be 10:30 am Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Greg Vincent, Preston Hard, Kyle Vincent, Dillin Vincent, Jordan Hudson and Derek George and as honorary pallbearers, Russ Martin, Barry French, Daniel Metheny and Clifton Dillin.
