Tara Kay Harrell, born April 17, 1989, in Jonesboro, AR was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at her home in Bono on May 26, 2026. We can only imagine the joy she felt as He carried her home beneath Heaven’s endless Christmas lights and glowing trees — a place surely filled with laughter, peace, and all the wonder Tara loved so dearly. Waiting joyfully to welcome her home were her maternal grandmother, Pat Anderson; her paternal grandparents, Roy and Pirlie Harrell; her Uncle Ken Anderson; and her Aunt Becky Self.
Tara leaves behind a family who adored her completely: her devoted parents, Glenn and Lisa Harrell, of the home; her grandparents, Charles “Pawpaw” and Lisa “LeeLee” Anderson of Stuttgart, AR and Freda “MawMaw” Shaker of Mesa, AZ; her sister, Shawna Mann and husband Michael of Bono; her brother, Wesley Harrell of Jonesboro; and her precious “babies”, nephew Mason Mann and niece Madilyn Mann, of Bono, and Uncle Ray Anderson & Ginger of Stuttgart, AR. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever brighter because of her.
Tara found joy in the little things that made life special. She loved Christmas all year long, Winnie the Pooh, her special bears, horses, school buses and the funny moments that made her laugh until everyone around her laughed too. She especially loved when her Daddy would jokingly spank Mr. Bear or when people fussed on her favorite TV shows, sending her into sweetest giggles. She loved the beach, watching seagulls soar over the water, trips to the river, riding her “school bus” — her beloved golf cart — and going to the “house in the trees” (deer cabin) More than anything, Tara was deeply loved. She had a gentle spirit that reminded others to slow down, smile, and find happiness in little things. Though her family’s hearts are broken here on earth, they find comfort in knowing Tara is whole, joyful, and celebrating forever beneath Heaven’s Christmas lights.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bring a Christmas ornament for Tara’s Christmas tree, or a favorite picture of yourself with Tara. (digital upload will be available at service) Those treasured photos will later be made into ornaments, creating a tree filled with the faces, memories, and love of all those whose lives were touched by her sweet spirit.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at Gregg Langford Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm with service following at 3 pm with Reverand Daniel White officiating.
