Fisher- Sylvia Jean Gunter Glass, 86, of DeWitt formerly of Fisher, has departed this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

She was born May 10, 1932 in Fisher to the late Wiley and Gladys Wixson Gunter.

She was a homemaker and had worked for numerous employers throughout her working years. After her retirement she went to work for her brother managing Gunter's Convenience Store in Fisher just down the road from where she lived until 2003. In late 2003 she moved to DeWitt to be close to her daughter and son-in-law and help with the care of her grandson, while his parents worked and traveled. She loved taking her grandson to the park to fish as she walked her 3 miles daily until she became ill a few years ago. She loved working in her yard and flower beds. On Sundays you knew not to call her because she was going to be watching NASCAR and drinking that extra thick milkshake.

She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Fahr of Jonesboro and Susie Thomas (James) of DeWitt: one granddaughter, Shannon Richardson of Jonesboro: three grandsons, Joshua Glass (Dana) of Kentucky, Jeremy Glass (Mila) of Weiner and Austin Thomas of DeWitt; five great-grandchildren, Caitlynn Richardson-Young, CJ Richardson, Zachary Glass, Dallas Glass and Piper Glass; four great-great grandchildren, Avery and Brently Wells, Cmack and Teagan Young and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack Gunter; two sisters Wylene Wakefield and Nedine Wilkins; the father of her children, James W. "Bugs" Glass Jr.; a son, James Randall Glass and a grandson Nathan Hugh Glass.

Burial will be private and entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
