Sylvia Ileen Clements of Jonesboro, AR formerly of Washington, D.C., departed this life on October 12, 2011 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. Born March 13, 1926 in Ravenden, AR daughter of Marvin and Julia Clements. Mrs. Clements was employed by the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. and after several years of retirement relocated to Jonesboro, AR in 2003. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and attended services at the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro and also the Baptist Church in Ravenden since relocating to Jonesboro. She attended classes at George Washington University and was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the National Secretaries Association and AARP. She enjoyed concerts and did an extensive amount of traveling. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, one brother Johnny Clements, one nephew Jack F. Clements and one niece Donna Fay Clements. Survivors include two brothers; Gerald C. Clements and wife Marie of Pocahontas, AR, Bobby B. Clements and wife Betty of Ravenden, AR. Two sisters; Barbara C. Hessenauer and husband Carl of Ravenden, AR and Zepha C. Schultz of Cherokee Village, AR., nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made directly to the Baptist Church in Ravenden, AR or the Northeast AR Food Bank at the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, AR. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Ravenden Baptist Church. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery with John Stoll and Frank Casillas officiating. Visitation was held prior to service from 1-2 p.m. also at the church in Ravenden. McNabb Funeral Home was in charge of making arrangements. Pallbearers included: Allen Booth, Todd Hessenauer, Bobby Clements, John Hessenauer, Tracy Clements and Paul Clements.
